RE: BlackBerry tablets in firesale as retailers slash prices
Like many of the mobile cum tablet manufacturers, they never really put much thought into the tablet market. People don't want 'large phone' what they want is a lighter and more fun version of their laptop to use around the house or when travelling. This means the priority should be in the OS system and access to apps , which unfortunately the Playbook is lagging behind the iPad and Android systems.
RE: HP dumps its Apple iPad rival tablet on Ebay
Too many of the world's technology companies have jumped on the 'me too' tablet bandwagon in pursuit of share of sales from a category that Apple invented, with many unsurprisingly, falling by the wayside. Plain and simple greed – which we're all guilty of – has seen a deluge of rushed copycat product development which for most, has been devoid of any clear understanding of who exactly they're targeting and supported by lacklustre advertising: a quick recipe for poor sales. Steve Jobs' microscopic attention to detail allowed him to create products that consumers never realised they needed until they'd experienced them. World class NPD coupled with iconic, memorable advertising, and we can all see why Apple currently enjoy such market dominance. The tablet market makes a great case study for marketing students the world over and with the likes of HP dropping their pants ahead of a speedy withdrawal, an even better case study for business degree students!

RE: Microsoft ads showcase social impact of Kinect
Brilliant ad. Microsoft really is trying to emphasise the technology and its brand image by showing unchartered possibilities of the product outside of its original purpose \(gaming and entertainment). Although reminiscent of Apple's iPad ads, which showed how its technology has changed the way we do things, this Kinect creative takes it a step further, with a more inspirational tone.
