Archant, the independently-owned regional media business, has revealed its profits slumped by more than 60% in the first six months of the year to £2.6m due to cuts in public sector advertising, increased costs and the economy.

Archant Life is not a "customer publisher". It publishes more than 45 county and city glossy consumer titles plus three French lifestyle titles. The name of Archant's contract and customer publishing division is Archant Dialogue.
