In his expanded role, O'Ferrall will lead MTVNI's digital media business across all platforms and territories, and will drive the company's overall digital media strategy.
He will work closely with the digital media team at MTV Networks in the USA, to ensure worldwide synergies and to drive growth and innovation.
Alongside his new remit, O'Ferrall will continue to be responsible for digital media in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
He will report to Robert Bakish, president of MTV Networks International and Heather Jones, executive vice-president, director of television, MTV Networks UK.
Before he joined MTVN, O'Ferrall was executive director at Twofour Television Group, a broadcast, communication and digital production company. Before Twofour Television, he worked at Nokia Ventures on the launch of the world's first mobile video portal, Mobile Media Club.
David Lynn, executive vice-president and managing director, MTV Networks UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand said O'Ferrall had "aggressively driven" MTV UK and Ireland's digital media business, "resulting in year-on-year multi-platform growth of audience and revenue".
