The new-look site will offer several new commercial opportunities, including ads around social media areas of the site.
Another change will be an increased emphasis on the paper's Going Out Guide, with information on an expanded lineup (35,000 up from 7,000 currently online) of places to visit in the capital.
Saalim Chowdhury, head of digital products at thelondonpaper, said that, akin to Wikipedia, readers will be able to amend and add comments to the guide. Other changes include a link-up with Facebook, which will allow users' comments on the website to be carried via the social network.
Chowdhury added that the overhaul, which includes a new design, is themed around the notion that "18 to 35 users trust us over anyone else to help them get more out of London".
