The site, M.guardian.co.uk, will be relaunched in March and will be optimised for all phones including iPhone and BlackBerry.
The mobile site will be ad-funded and Guardian News & Media has appointed 4th Screen Advertising to support its sales teams to sell advertising.
Google AdWords will also appear across the site and distribution agreements have been reached with 3 and Vodafone.
Adam Freeman, commercial director of Guardian News & Media, said the new site aims to capitalise on the growing mobile media market and meet the needs of advertisers.
The launch has been achieved through collaboration with technology partners Bluestar Mobile, with Mobile IQ's Fabric platform, Momac, WIN and Roundpoint.
