Paper Round (29 July) - Which brands are advertising in the national press?

 

Ads for deals on anything from Harrods furniture to Asda school uniforms run in today's national papers alongside ideas to keep the kids happy during the summer holidays.

Argos continues its big push around its new catalogue with a double page spread highlighting TV deals, a page pushing Dyson hoovers and a half page featuring satnav devices such as TomTom, all running in various papers. A pullout is included in the Daily Mirror showing various new products.

Meanwhile, Harrods advertises its furniture sale in The Times offering up to 50% off luxury and designer goods and Dreams runs a page in the Daily Mail promoting its 60% off sale.

John Lewis is now stocking the iPad, according to an ad in The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph while Sony advertises its PSP as a way to pass the time this summer in the Daily Mirror.

The National Trust's campaign to promote family time spent at its many historic sites appears again in The Independent.

Delia Smith features in new Waitrose press ads, promoting her recipe cards available in store and deals on the ingredients needed to make them. Meanwhile M&S runs an ad in The Times for a "dine in for two" promotion.

Staples aims to "beat the pound stores" offering reduced price stationery in preparation for the new school term. Asda’s clothes brand George offers school uniforms from £3, also hoping to grab the early back to school shoppers.

Liverpool Victoria advertises car insurance on the cover of The Daily Telegraph, in a move away from its usual direct marketing strategy and The Guardian promotes an offer for two free children’s audio books in the Observer this Sunday.
