Among several strong contenders, Marketing's judges felt John Brown stood out as the closest runner-up to Redwood in 2007. Despite a tough year in which the agency lost its contract to produce Sky: The Magazine when the flagship title was moved to News Magazines, Sky's sister company, John Brown managed to increase both its underlying profitability and size, with contribution growth forecast to increase by 12% this year. It won the UK's biggest customer publishing pitch, scooping the RBS Group's retail banking magazine programme, and won more than 15 new contracts given an annualised contribution in excess of £1m from the likes of Disney, Procter & Gamble and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
