LONDON - Support for the Liberal Democrats is still surging according to polls, and stranded travellers finally get hope of a lift-off.

The Daily Telegraph prints a school picture of Nick Clegg, alongside a comment piece from one of its writers who went to school with the Liberal Democrat leader.

Meanwhile, The Guardian asks ‘Is Clegg really the new Obama?' and leads with an ICM poll showing the Liber:al Democrats have gained 10 points in support.

The Daily Star calls Clegg a ‘migrant menace' and The Times headlines ‘Cameron digs up a new approach'.

The Daily Mail leads on the Goldman Sachs banker claiming a bonus while on fraud charges, and predicts travel ‘chaos to last a fortnight'.

The Sun reports on the ‘battle for lift-off', as some flights in Scotland and parts of northern England are due to resume after the skies were emptied because of the volcanic ash cloud from Iceland.

The Independent, which launches its new-look issue today, trumpets ‘more woe for Cameron', while leading on ‘Europe takes to the skies again' and ‘sack Goldmans'. 

‘Up and away' reads the headline in today's Daily Express as the paper asks ‘why did it take so long?', while The Daily Telegraph says: ‘Met Office got it wrong over ban on flights'.

Prudential advertises pensions with The Daily Telegraph and The Times ‘body&soul' pull out is included today.

The Sun continues to push its ‘hols from £15' on its cover and the Daily Mail promotes its World War Two DVD offer.
