McHenry has worked at IDS since 2003 on the TV portfolio, but has helped generate revenues across all platforms as IDS digital platform has grown.

Reporting to Stuart Flint, director of digital, McHenry will be responsible for sales across IDS' digital portfolio which includes Virginmedia.com, UKTV and VMtv's digital portfolios and The Online Video Alliance.

His agency portfolio will include all agencies within Group M and VivaKi.

IDS, which restructured in May last year to merge TV and online sales teams, also appointed Davina Barker as a digital controller in October.

Flint said: "Steve's experience and personality will bring the strengths of the IDS digital portfolio to the fore and I have no doubts that he will lead a highly successful agency team."

The digital sales team has been further strengthened by the promotion of Keren Levy to the new role of special projects manager where she will be responsible for driving new business.

Tim Scoffham has also been made a permanent member of the digital team as a senior digital sales executive and Daniel Black has been appointed digital sales executive.
