Paper Round (1 Feb) - a morning look at the day's newspapers

LONDON - Military action and sporting endeavour occupies much of the national press this morning with the Daily Mirror's offer of a free book token for Dick King-Smith's classic children's story The Hodgeheg leading the promotions.

Not to be out done in the family fun stakes, The Sun, having offered holidays for £9.50, has now put 200,000 family football match tickets 'up for grabs' for the same price.

The Daily Mail's offer of a Delia Smith DVD still stands but as we move into February, The Times 'Eat out for £5' promotion is no more.

Advertising today comes from Boodles, which pushes its diamond rings on the cover of The Daily Telegraph, while The Birkbeck University of London advertises its open evening on the cover of The Independent and Sandals 40% off Guardian ad continues.
