Haymarket Business Media buys The Friday Pint

 

LONDON - Haymarket Business Media, publisher of MediaWeek.co.uk, has acquired The Friday Pint, a network of websites and events for commercial media professionals.

Under the terms of the deal The Friday Pint network, which includes mediasalesjobs.co.uk and mediasalesjobsUK.com, will merge with MediaWeekjobs.co.uk.

In addition, Media Week will become the headline sponsor of the annual 5-a-side football tournament for advertising sales teams, The Media Sales Cup.

Simon Devitt, online publishing director at Haymarket Business Media, said the purchase of The Friday Pint demonstrates Haymarket's "ongoing commitment to provide the best online experience" for both those looking for media jobs and advertisers looking to recruit from within the sector.

Devitt said by combining The Friday Pint with HBM's established job site, MediaWeekjobs.co.uk, we will be able to "provide the sector with a unique online recruitment proposition".

Lee Branch, founder of The Friday Pint, said he is delighted the network has become part of the "clear market-leader" MediaWeekJobs.co.uk, which offers an "unrivalled online recruitment proposition for any media owner or specialist recruiter looking for new staff".

The Media Sales Cup will take place in early summer 2010, in partnership with Media Week.
