From next year, TrainFX will design, supply and install the passenger information systems on 151 trains that travel on the Thames Valley route.
It emerged last week that Digicom, the digital out-of-home sales house led by former CBS Outdoor International chief executive Tom Goddard, was poised to take the contract to handle sales for TrainFX.
Tim Baldwin, chairman of RAM, the investment vehicle that owns TrainFX, said there was a £35m market for passenger information systems in the UK, following the introduction of European legislation for an increase in passenger information.
Baldwin added that the First Great Western deal was an important step for TrainFX in the supply of its portfolio of technologies to the rail sector.
Earlier this month, TrainFX bought the assets of ASG Media, the digital out-of-home company formerly known as Avanti Screenmedia, but not the company's debt.
Jamie Ball, managing director of ASG Media, and Gary Truman, finance director, left the company, which will now trade as ASG Estates, led by David da Costa.
