Former communications minister Lord Carter's Digital Britain report set out plans to form the delivery group, with the aim of accelerating take-up of digital radio.
The group's remit will be much wider than that of the bureau, which was primarily a marketing body for digital radio.
The Digital Radio Delivery Group will be responsible for improving DAB set sales, rolling out DAB coverage to match that of FM, and liaising with radio set manufacturers.
A spokesman for the bureau confirmed the jobs of its existing five employees, including chief executive Tony Moretta, will be secure within the new organisation.
The new body is seeking a new chief executive and the bureau confirmed Moretta was entitled to apply for the role.
