Lonely Planet hires Brough as online chief

 

LONDON - Lonely Planet has hired Kelly Brough as its new global online director.

Reporting to Matt Goldberg, Lonely Planet chief executive, Brough joined the company in London and will relocate to Lonely Planet's head office in Melbourne later this month.

She joins Lonely Planet from Allegran Online Dating, where she was chief executive. She managed the outfit's offer across a portfolio of third-party websites.

Over the past year, Lonely Planet has relaunched Lonelyplanet.com and recently won the Webby for Best Travel Site. The website features Lonely Planet guidebook content, images, videos and maps covering more than 8,000 destinations, as well as offering the opportunity to book hotels, flights and a range of other services.

Brough previously worked at Accenture and AOL. At AOL, she established paid services for the UK and grew this into a significantly profitable business.
