Newsquest's Herald & Times Group recruitment portfolio, which includes Scotland's Appointments in the Herald and s1JobsGlasgow in the Evening Times, will be sold by the existing 10-strong recruitment team at Newsquest from Thursday (19 March). Herald & Times Group publishes The Herald, The Sunday Herald and the Evening Times. A five-strong in-house team will continue to sell ads to Scottish media agencies.

Ian Clarke, sales and marketing director of Herald & Times Group, said the Newsquest Media Sales recruitment team will provide the "information, support and advice" necessary to deliver "timely and cost-effective results" to agencies and their clients.

Penny Lee, managing director of Essential Media, said the firm is "absolutely devastated" by the loss of the national classified business for the Herald and Glasgow Evening Times. She said the loss of the Herald & Times has badly affected Essential Media's business and there will be job cuts as a result, although she declined to reveal how many.
