ITV signs football deal with Nivea

The deal begins this week with ITV's coverage of Manchester City's second leg last-32 tie against FC Copenhagen on Thursday (26 February) at 7pm on ITV4.

ITV holds the exclusive rights for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final live on ITV1 or ITV4. The sponsorship is broadcast-only and runs mainly across ITV4.

Krane Jeffery, associate director Carat Sponsorship, negotiated the deal with Kirsten Gillard, sponsorship manager at ITV. Creative will be produced by Draftfcb London and features men showing off their improvised football skills with everyday items.

The opening rounds of UEFA Cup matches are bid for on a game-by-game basis by all broadcasters.

Nivea For Men is already associated with football, including Nivea Deodorant's sponsorship of Supergoals in The Sun.
