MediaEquals signs partners for new ad trading service

 

LONDON - MediaEquals, the online trading platform for offline media, has secured Guardian News & Media, Metro Newspapers and IPC Media as new partners to its press ad trading service, which launched this week.

Previously, only BBC Magazines and Bauer Media had been publicly confirmed as MediaEquals partners. The addition of the three new publishers means MediaEquals can now offer agencies access to the majority of UK magazine inventory and a chunk of UK newspaper ad slots.

MediaEquals allows media owners to detail their ad inventory on its system, including price and positioning. Media agencies and advertisers can then log on and purchase ad space or even bid against rivals for ad spots.

Guardian News & Media, Metro Newspapers, IPC Media's Ignite and Inspire units, BBC Magazines and Bauer Media have uploaded their entire inventories to MediaEquals. Guardian News & Media has uploaded all display and insert ads onto the platform.

Agencies will be able to buy all display inventory from all Metro newspaper titles in the UK. Meanwhile, IPC Media will allow all consumer display inventory across both IPC Ignite and IPC Inspire to be traded on MediaEquals.

BBC Magazines has loaded all display and insert inventory on the system, while Bauer Media is selling inserts across all media with display to follow. In addition, all classified and online media from these publishers will be made available for sale from Q1 2009.

Beyond press, MediaEquals plans to launch a trading platform for outdoor inventory, with radio expected to be the next platform to be launched.
