Perform strikes Metacafe ad deal

Metacafe focuses on short-form content, working with small production companies and independent film-makers.

The site had 1.7 million UK unique users in September and 38 million unique users worldwide, according to comScore data.

Previous brands advertising on the site include 20th Century Fox, vodka brand Absolut, Proctor & Gamble, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Starburst and Universal Pictures.

Perform Sales, the subsidiary of Perform that sells advertising around sports content on web and mobile sites, adds Metacafe to a portfolio that already includes celebrity gossip website Holy Moly.

Separately, Dominic Dunne has joined Perform Sales from entertainment portal All Dig Down to manage the Metacafe account.

In September, Perform Sales secured deals to sell ads around a number of football-related websites, including the official websites for Sunderland and Leeds United.
