Wheatly is changing roles in order to focus on Jazz FM, which relaunched on 6 October. He will continue to play a strategic role in the ongoing development of TLRC in his new role as non executive director.
Elsewhere, Anthony Gumbiner, who through Hallwood Investments Limited holds 28% of the issued share capital of the company, will become non-executive chairman of The Local Radio Company. He was previously a non-executive director of TLRC.
Alistair Mackenzie, finance director, will become chief operating officer and assume responsibility for the daily management of the company, as well as its finances.
Rhys Davies, who is a director of Hallwood Investments Limited, will become investment director and represent the company on the boards of its investee companies, Jazz FM, First Radio Sales and Quadrant Media.

LONDON - Richard Wheatly, executive chairman of The Local Radio Company, is stepping down with immediate effect to become executive chairman of the company's subsidiary station Jazz FM.
