The group's national newspaper division, Associated Newspapers, increased its total revenues by 1%, according to DMGT's trading update for the 11 months to August 31.
This increase was helped by a 1% year-on-year rise in the division's circulation revenues, which jumped after the Daily Mail's cover price changed from 45p to 50p earlier this year.
Associated's ad revenues were close to flat moving up 0.4% over the period. This included an 11% rise in Associated Northcliffe Digital ad revenues and a 1% rise in ad revenues from the division's newspaper operations.
However, Associated's recent newspaper ad revenues have fallen 2.6% in July and August. The company said this fall has continued into September.
Northcliffe Media, DMGT's regional media business, was hit the hardest, posting a 5% decrease in total revenues compared to the same period last year.
The division's UK ad revenues for the period were 9% lower than the same period last year. However, digital revenues were 46% ahead of last year and now represent 6% of the divisions total ad revenues.
DMGT announced last week that it was merging Associated Newspapers and Northcliffe Media together into a new company called A&N Media.
The Viscount Rothermere, chairman of DMGT, said: "Our strategy of creating a diversified international portfolio of market-leading operations across both business and consumer products provides considerable resilience and leaves us well positioned to deliver long-term growth.
"Inevitably, the worsening economic conditions are having an impact on our newspaper and property businesses, but the B2B divisions have continued to perform well.
"The recent events experienced by financial markets and institutions will have no material impact on this year's results."
DMGT's current market expectations of earnings for 2008 range from £257m to £279m. The company said it expected its adjusted results to be at the lower end of these expectations.
