More receives second makeover by Bauer

LONDON - Bauer Media's weekly women's magazine More is set to relaunch for the second time within a year next Tuesday (23 September) in an attempt to reverse its plummeting circulation.

The redesign aims to attract a more sophisticated readership, though it will still target its core demographic of 18 to 24-year-olds.

New features include a 30-page high-street fashion section, while celebrity Alan Carr will write a celebrity interview column for the new-look magazine, which is also increasing its size slightly to mirror sister titles Heat and Closer.

The revamp follows a sluggish performance by More in August's Audit Bureau of Circulations figures, where it tumbled 38% year on year, to a circulation of 162,544.

Bauer Media claims the redesign will mean it is the only weekly magazine tailored to men, sex and relationship advice, and its pagination is set to rise by 25% to average 116-124 pages to accommodate the changes.

The relaunch will be supported by a multimedia ad campaign from 23 September.

The magazine only last underwent a revamp in September 2007, when it made the ambitious leap from a fortnightly to a weekly.
