Coca-Cola launches Football League podcast

LONDON - Coca-Cola, sponsors of the Championship and Leagues One and Two, has launched a dedicated football podcast hosted by Radio 5 Live presenter Mark Clemmit, offering a weekly update from all the games in the three divisions.

The launch marks the first podcast about the Football League and is the result of a joint venture between BBC Radio 5 Live, The Football League and Coca-Cola. It will be available for download every Thursday morning until the end of the season.

Clemmit, Radio 5 Live's "Voice of the Football League", said he loved the intimacy and accessibility of the Football League and hope to reflect this in the podcast.

The podcast will feature all 72 Football League clubs over the course of the season. In the first podcast, available from today, Lincoln City manager Peter Jackson talks from Sincil Park about his recent fight against throat cancer and his return to the dugout.

The initial show also stars Kevin Blackwell, the manager of Sheffield United, who discusses his hopes for the season. Barnsley midfielder Brian Howard talks about his loves and hates and winger Chris Taylor of Oldham Athletic explains how he tried to copy Patrick Vieira.

The podcast will be available from iTunes and www.football-league.co.uk and has been publicised on individual club websites.
