It is to work with developers NextGen and Electracade to create online versions of its top game shows. The initiative is being overseen by the new FremantleMedia Gaming division, which has been created to extend and develop the company's activities in gaming and licensing of games, off and online.
FremantleMedia is part of the RTL Group, which also owns TV channel Five. FremantleMedia's other online interests include ComedyDemon.com, a site where comedy fans can watch clips of comedians and episodes of classic comedy, and it is in partnership with Heavy.com to create an online dating TV show.
FremantleMedia Gaming is being headed by Paul Kanareck, who is also head of the FremantleMedia Ventures division. He said the deals would enable the company to "create a more consistent experience across its brands".
