Yahoo reaches 29 million through new ad network

LONDON - Yahoo has launched a new online ad network today that claims to reach more than 80% of the UK's web population via websites and mobile sites.

Called Yahoo Network, its inventory includes the Yahoo Homepage, Yahoo Mail and Flickr, in addition to space on more than 100 top comScore-rated websites.

Search partners include Loot, Five and BT.com, and mobile partners are 3 Group, T-Mobile, O2, Orange and Vodafone.

The new network's reach is said to be in excess of 29 million monthly users.

Mark Rabe, vice-president and managing director of sales for Yahoo! UK and Ireland, said: "Ease, efficiency and effectiveness are the key drivers that will appeal to Yahoo Network commercial partners."

Today's announcement follows the European launch in June of AOL's Platform-A, the division that brings together all of AOL's advertising assets and third party sites.
