IPM said Sky decided to allow its rival Kinetic to pitch for the account but chose to retain IPM, with whom it has worked with for the last five years. IPM would not reveal the length of the new contract with Sky.

According to the Outdoor Advertising Association, Sky spent £4.2m on outdoor advertising in Q2 2008, down 6.8% year on year.

Susie Redfern recently joined the IPM Sky account team from Titan as senior account manager.

Previously, she worked for Posterscope for two years as an account manager. In March, IPM brokered an innovative campaign for Sky One's adaptation of Terry Pratchett novel The Colour of Magic, when it launched a Bluetooth zone in Victoria Station to promote the show.

The campaign gave fans the opportunity to download promotional material only if they choose to, unlike other campaigns that have directed material to anyone with a Bluetooth-enabled handset passing through a specific area.
