The British Heart Foundation has created a two-minute film with the strapline "Watch your own heart attack", to air on ITV1 on 10 August at 9.17pm during Sunday night murder mystery drama Midsomer Murders.
Following the ad break, ITV will make the ad available via the red button in satellite homes on ITV's main interactive menu for one week.
The ad was directed by Brett Foraker, award-winning creative director of Channel 4, and stars actor Steven Berkoff.
The campaign, conceived and created by Grey London, also comprises a campaign with a call to "Watch Your Own Heart Attack" in billboards, press, washrooms and online, running up to the ad break on 10 August.
Teaser trailers, supported by well-known personalities including David Cameron, will be airing on ITV and on radio stations the week leading up to the film launch.
