The agency now labels itself as a search-inspired comms agency, offering search marketing, online media and design services to clients.
Oliver Bishop, chief executive of Steak, said that additional services on offer and international expansion meant that it was time for the agency to gain a new identity.
The agency was founded in 2005 by ex-Espotting (now Miva) executives, Duncan Parry and Julian Walker (Bishop was also a founding member).
Steak originally offered search services and has expanded from its London base to open offices in New York and Melbourne, having received a funding boost from venture capitalist firm Beringea in September 2007.
