The San Francisco-based firm has hired former AOL Europe head of client services Jonathan Lewis as head of publisher relations for Europe, and former AOL Europe head of portal advertising Adam Yates as head of sales for Europe.
The company has also been joined by Alistair Ramsay, who was chief executive of Dennis Publishing between 1992 and 2006. He joins AdGent 007 as a European representative on its global executive board.
Times Online is the first publisher to sign up to AdGent 007, which last month appointed Chris Humphrey, former head of European sales at AOL, as general manager for Europe.
Backed by £2.7m of venture capital investment, AdGent 007 opened in September 2007. It has now established European headquarters in Edinburgh and an office in London, and is setting up other teams abroad.
The company believes it can make money from newspapers' overseas readerships by conducting face-to-face sales, becoming an extension of publishers' own sales teams.
