Ferguson is the latest executive to leave Bauer Consumer Media, formerly Emap Consumer Media.
Last week, it emerged that Dharmash Mistry, managing director of Bauer Consumer Media and Bauer Performance, is to leave the company.
Ferguson will join Future at the end of April and oversee its flagship technology title in the newly created role.
His departure comes amid a number of changes at H Bauer, including the appointment of Geoff Campbell, the acting managing director at Bauer's publishing's mobile phone division, to the role of managing director of its men's lifestyle division, which publishes FHM and Arena.
Campbell will take on some of the responsibilities of Rob Munro-Hall, who was recently promoted to the role of group managing director of Bauer Consumer Media's specialist portfolio, based in Peterborough.
