LONDON - Facebook has poached Yahoo! commercial director Blake Chandlee to be its UK sales director and first UK employee, Media Week can exclusively reveal.
Chandlee is expected to start at the social networking phenomenon to spearhead a major push into the UK market, according to sources familiar with the subject.
Chandlee joined Yahoo! in 2003, rising to commercial director. It is believed that Chandlee’s role will be to build up Facebook’s UK sales team and work directly with agencies and advertisers to exploit the site’s commercial opportunities.
Chandlee and Facebook were unavailable for comment.
