Local magazine goes national

The storm clouds show no signs of lifting for the two major ITV companies, with Merrill Lynch analysts downgrading Carlton Communications

The Sticks magazine looks set for further expansion after securing extra funding. The title's publishing company, the Plain English Group, has raised £270,000 from investors which will allow it to continue its roll-out across the UK.

The monthly tabloid magazine, which includes local information and lifestyle features, currently reaches over 600,000 affluent readers in counties surrounding the M25. The group is now planning to expand into a further 36 counties across the UK.

It recently launched a new supplement Property in the Sticks, which is distributed with its Suffolk edition and will soon be available with the Norfolk and Essex editions.
