The Week launches financial title

Andrew Neil, chief executive of The Scotsman, is again proving he is a force to be reckoned with. But, asks Kate McNally, is a new rival about to spoil his Scottish party?

The Week is to launch a financial spin off title, Money Week, in November. The title will aim to guide its readers through the increase volume of investment information provided by newspapers, newsletters, magazines and websites.

The new title will target the private investor market as well as the financial professionals in the City. Money Week is being published in association with Dennis Publishing and has also been backed by a group of private investors including Lord Hanson, Lord Rothschild, Roddie Flemming and Wafic Said.

The launch will be backed by a £400,000 spend including broadsheet ads, outdoor and a major sampling exercise. Simon Davies has been promoted to sales director on both The Week and Money Week.
