The Radio Authority has renewed talkSport’s licence for a further eight years.
TalkSport owner The Wireless Group’s annual payment to the authority has been reduced from £4.3 million to £0.5 million. However, the group’s payment of an annual percentage of qualifying revenue (PQR) has grown to 6% from 4%.
“These terms will allow talkSport to continue to invest in its future and move faster towards breaking even”, said Kelvin MacKenzie, chairman and chief executive of The Wireless Group.
