Ideal Home saw its circulation rise by 6.6% for the year to 244,870, a period-on-period fall of 4.5% from 256,505.
It is still nearly 50,000 copies ahead of its nearest rival, the National Magazine Company's House Beautiful, which reported a circulation of 192,409, down 3.8% for the year.
Two BBC magazines took significant dives in this sector. BBC Homes and Antiques, the third-biggest title, was down 3.8% for the year at 165,388, while BBC Homes slumped 8.9% year on year, down to 121,312. Also down was House & Gardens, which lost 10.6% of its circulation year on year, to fall from over 160,000 to 141,809.
NatMags had the sector's biggest gainer, with Your Home up 11.6% for the year with a circulation of 152,557. Among the other big fallers were IPC's Living Etc, launched with a bang in the 1990s, down 4.3% to 81,381.
