It is the first time that the company has had a bespoke head of sales. Duties were originally split between Sarah Christmas, head of marketing and Andrew Barnett, managing director of Ubiquitous.
Hart joins Ubiquitous from JCDecaux, where he was trading group head. Prior to this, he has also held roles at T4 Media, Clear Channel Outdoor and Emap.
Ubiquitous has also created an operational board consisting of Simon Lavelle as director of finance, Sarah Christmas as director of marketing, Suzy Taylor as director of campaign management and Martin Castle as director of operations.
The appointment follows the company’s recent recruitment drive adding four new members to its sales team.
They are Sophie Green, account manager, Shifali Kulisra, account manager, Sarah Carlin account executive and Rex Rusling junior account manager.
Barnett said: "Ubiquitous is now of a size where it requires more pairs of experienced hands to run it and importantly, to achieve the next stage in its development.
"The creation of the Operational Board and the arrival of Dan is recognition of this, combined with the advantage that we have a well-established and very experienced team, whom I trust to keep the business on its current path of growth and success."
In November 2011, Ubiquitous launched a new taxi advertising format with a campaign for the new Samsung Galaxy.
