PPA announces shortlist for 2010 awards

LONDON - Grazia, Look and The Week are among those titles vying to be named Consumer Magazine of the Year in the Periodical Publishers Association's 2010 awards.

Grazia publisher Abby Carvosso is also up for consumer magazine Publisher of the Year, on a 12-strong list that includes Kathy Day at BBC Magazines’ Radio Times and Patricia Stevenson at Condé Nast’s Tatler.

Consumer Media Brand of the Year nominees include BBC Good Food, Bauer Media’s Grazia and Heat, along with IPC brands Look and Nuts.

Contenders for Editor of the Year include Harpers Bazaar’s Lucy Yeomans, Esquire’s Jeremy Langmead, Morgan Reece at Men’s Health, and Lisa Smosarski at Stylist.

Bauer’s FHM and Car magazines are competing against Haymarket Consumer Media’s Stuff magazine, Time Out and The World in 2009 from The Economist, for the title of International Consumer Magazine of the year.

The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 16 June at the Grosvenor House hotel in Park Lane, London and will have a 1950s Hollywood theme.
