NI restructures senior ad team

LONDON - News International has reshuffled its senior commercial personnel and set up a new eight-strong unit, headed by former group classified advertising director, David German, which will work with clients on alternative remuneration deals.

German will take on the new role of sales innovation director, and the new unit, called Sales Innovation will target the affiliate and direct marketing budgets of its clients. It will also target lapsed clients. German will report to Paul Hayes, managing director of News International commercial.

He will be replaced as group classified advertising director by Luc Borg, who previously reported to German as head of classified for News Group Newspapers, The Sun, News of the World, and the now-defunct thelondonpaper.

He will report to Dominic Carter, trading director, in a change of reporting lines that gives Carter more direct responsibility for News International's classified output.

Classified digital sales and the rest of the digital advertising teams will continue to report into Alex Hole, digital trading director.
