The five shortlisted candidates, picked from the brightest young stars on Media Week's 30 under 30 list, are Harry Dewhirst, co-founder and operations director, Ring Ring Media; Mark Jackson, associate director, UK and EMEA, MediaCom; Mark Mitchell, head of search, OMD; Corinne O'Sullivan, head of campaign management, News International; and Duncan Parry, co-founder and head of insight, Steak Media.

The panel of judges included Diane Murphy, associate director for people development, Omnicom Europe; Media Week columnist and Mirror Group Newspapers director of advertising David Emin; Lara Ashworth, talent director, ZenithOptimedia; and Paul Farrer, chairman of PFJ.

Candidates attended a second judging day recently, where they presented a five-minute pitch to top agency, media owner and client executives on the Media Week Awards judging panel.

The 30 under 30 and Rising Star of the Year initiatives seek to identify the media industry's chief executives of the future: the sharpest, most ambitious and hard-working young media professionals from media agencies, media owners and clients.

The Rising Star of the Year category at the Media Week Awards is this year sponsored by Bauer Consumer Media's weekly women's magazine Grazia. To reserve a ticket for media's big night of the year, go to www.mediaweekawards.co.uk.

Grazia is also on the hunt for the most stylish woman in the UK media industry, a prize that will be handed out at the Media Week Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Thursday, 29 October. The winner of the Media Style Hunter Award will receive £1,000 to spend on her autumn/winter wardrobe.

Grazia is visiting media agencies from this week in search of stylish media women.
