Media Week Awards shortlist announced

LONDON - MediaCom, Carat, Vizeum and Mediaedge:CIA are up for agency of the year, as the shortlist for the Media Week Awards 2009 is unveiled.

MediaCom: Agency of the Year 2008
MediaCom: Agency of the Year 2008

TV sales houses Viacom Brand Solutions and IDS will battle it out for sales team of the year, alongside TalkSport, Guardian News & Media and Google.

The hotly contested media brand of the year category will be fought out between Global Radio's expanded Heart FM, CBS-owned Last FM, ShortList Media, UTV's TalkSport, News International's The Sun and Dennis Publishing's The Week. The winners will be announced at Grosvenor House Hotel on 29 October.

The high calibre of entries mean a number of category shortlists have multiple nominations for the same company and MediaCom has three nominations against Mindshare Worldwide's two for the best international campaign.

Viacom Brand Solutions will have two opportunities to win the sales pitch niche (under £250k) and MediaCom and PHD both have two chances to win the prize for collaboration.

Carat is nominated twice in both the media idea large category (over £1m) and the media idea medium (£250k-1m), while MediaCom is nominated twice for media idea large.
