Myvideorights.com hires Samuel for UK ad director role

LONDON - Myvideorights.com, the rights company backed by Peter Bazalgette and Kelvin Mackenzie, has appointed Ian Samuel as UK ad sales director.

Samuel joins from online video outfit Blinkx.com and will be responsible for building and delivering online sales, with particular focus on in-stream advertising and sponsorships. He will also build an ad sales team to support the company.

Prior to working for Blinkx, Samuel was group head for online and mobile advertising at News International, where his role included NI's digital advertising third-party relationships.

Samuel will work with Ashley MacKenzie, chief executive and founder of Myvideorights.com.

Mackenzie was formerly sales director for The Wireless Group, a publicly quoted commercial radio operator owning 30 licenses around the UK, including TalkSport radio.

Myvideorights.com represents the commercial interests of producers and rights holders to digital video publishers.

Its board includes Bazalgette, ex-chief creative officer of Endemol, and Mackenzie, former editor of The Sun and chairman and chief executive of The Wireless Group.
