What does your job involve?
My job is to contribute to the ongoing evolution of the digital media industry. It involves long hours, plenty of fun, hard work and lots and lots of communication.

What's it like working at Yahoo?
It's an absolute rush ... like being in the eye of a hurricane. It's also very motivating and great fun to be an integral part of the massive transformation of the media industry.

What qualifications and experience do you need?
You need a head for marketing, a client-focused disposition and a competitive streak.

How do you spend a typical day?
I'm bolt upright at around 6am with thoughts of everything I didn't get to do the day before, jot a few quick e-mails from my BlackBerry and think about going for a run, but then think better of it. Fitness is a state of mind. After a shower, I spend some quality time with my daughter before heading to the office.

There's often a lunch appointment to attend, but I'm trying to avoid meetings over lunch as I find it hard to refuse dessert. Once home, it's bath-time for my daughter Sam before catching up with American Idol or Lost. Finally, I set my alarm for 6.30am with every intention of going for that run tomorrow. Fade to black. Rinse and repeat.

What's the best thing about your job?
The people. I work with a really talented team, all of whom are bright and positive. The digital media industry is changing rapidly and it attracts bold, dynamic people who embrace change and are not afraid of it. The clients I work with are marketing directors who are passionate about being vanguards of their brand, which makes them switched on and stimulating company.

And the worst?
Reports are a necessary evil. I much prefer to look forward than to keep looking back.

Who helped you get where you are today?
A man who drove the taxi, but I didn't catch his name.

Who do you aspire to be like?
FooFighters frontman Dave Grohl, who is is the quintessence of cool. We were born in the same year, but that's where the similarities end.
