Morgan was the former Universal McCann president of operations in Asia before he relocated from Singapore to take on the London-based job last February. He is set to leave the Interpublic-owned network next month without a job to go to.
Describing his role before his arrival last year, Nick Brien, chief executive of parent group Media-brands, said it would "give focus to a critical area for Universal McCann - the management and development of global client portfolios". Morgan was also responsible for marketing UM's global talent and expertise to clients and other agencies around the world.
An experienced media practitioner, he was UM's regional leader in Asia for 16 months and, prior to that, was chief executive of Mediaedge:cia Asia-Pacific for six months.
UM said his duties will now be handled by Jan Boyle, UM's new executive vice-president, global managing partner lead, based in New York.
The firm is also looking for a group president of EMEA following the departure of Diederik Breijer less than six months after his arrival. His duties have been taken on by Graham Duff, president of parent group Mediabrands EMEA and Breijer's predecessor.
