STAR hires Money for international sales role

LONDON - News Corp-owned Asian media broadcaster STAR has appointed Ben Money, head of research at Eurosport Television, to the position of vice-president international advertising sales research.

Money's role will include measuring and reporting on STAR's global audience and demonstrating the potential of advertising on STAR's portfolio to clients and agencies. He will report to Ron Plante, STAR senior vice-president research.

Money will work across the STAR international products in North America, Europe, Middle East, south-east Asia, the Philippines, India and Greater China, and will be based at STAR's headquarters in Hong Kong.

As head of research at sports channel Eurosport ,Money was responsible for maximising advertising revenue. He also promoted the Eurosport brand by overseeing research activities in the UK, Scandinavia and the US.

Plante said Money's keen understanding of international media sales and extensive research skills will be invaluable to STAR as it expands globally.

STAR broadcasts more than 60 television services in Asia. It is involved in filmed entertainment, television production, cable systems and distribution, terrestrial TV broadcasting and wireless, and digital services.
