123WebTV, a free online search engine providing access to all video and TV programmes available on the web, launched last month. It allows users access to a range of TV programmes and channels that are available only via the web including from the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, with the ability to browse by genre, themes and channels and search for specific content.

123WebTV aims to achieve 250,000 unique monthly UK visitors within its first six months of operation. New features planned include improved search functionality and Facebook applications.

Mackenzie, 123WebTV's chief executive, said: "These results show a need for a service like ours where consumers can watch more of their favourite TV shows or movies and find it much quicker by searching less."

An unnamed investor has purchased a 5% stake in 123WebTV's parent company NetTV247.com. West, founder and chairman of NetTV247.com, said the investment "is confirmation that we are making good progress in this exciting sector".
