The overhaul, led by PPA chief executive Jonathan Shepherd, features the consolidation of the PPA's various research departments into a single research unit. The restructure follows the PPA's recent decision to review the future of its marketing department.

In addition, the PPA is folding its conferences and awards events into a new, single events department. In a further move, the vacant post of director of legal and public affairs is being split into two, with the creation of a new post of general counsel, in charge of legal issues, and a head of public affairs, in charge of representation.

The occupant of the new post of sales manager will report to chief operating officer Sarah Tunstall, a former colleague of Shepherd's at Newsquest Financial Media.
