The title, World of Cars, will hit newsstands on 28 May and is themed around the Disney film, Cars. The first issue will be cover-mounted with a free Disney-branded stationery set.
World of Cars will feature comic strips, games, puzzles, and activities for boys who are interested in cars. It will also profile characters from the film Cars, as well as hosting other well-known characters from the world of motoring.
The monthly title will have a cover price of £1.99 and, in an attempt to boost repeat purchase, each issue will feature a set of collectable cards. Its initial print run will be around 130,000 copies.
Egmont, which claims to sell nearly one million kids' magazines a month, already publishes Disney magazines Disney Princess and Disney Power Rangers. The publisher claims to have more than 20% of the children's market.
In March, Egmont revamped two of its websites to attract return visits from its youth audience. Two sites - www.gogirlmag.co.uk and www.toxicmag.co.uk - unveiled new content to ensure children are kept entertained while visiting the sites.
