Carat celebrates winning tranche of new contracts

Carat has picked up several new business wins, led by the £2m media account for Cyprus Tourism Organisation.

OMD previously handled the organisation's media spend in the UK, as one of a number of agencies Cyprus Tourism uses throughout Europe. The tourist board put its media account up for pitch in September 2007, inviting agencies in the UK and throughout Europe to pitch for its business.

Cyprus Tourism this year intends to use TV, outdoor and press to promote the island as a tourist destination for UK holidaymakers.

Diageo's wine franchise Blossom Hill, the second-biggest wine brand in the UK behind Hardys, has also handed its media buying account to Carat. The agency won the account from Walker Media, which runs the media spend for Le Piat D'Or wine.

Meanwhile, Carat has picked up the media account for Abbey for Intermediaries. Carat's sister Aegis agency Feather Brooksbank previously handled Abbey for Intermediaries' media spend.

Finally, Korean Air and the Seoul Metropolitan Government have appointed Carat to run their media spend in the UK.
