Future Publishing has poached Bauer Consumer Media's brand director for Q and Mojo, Stuart Galbraith, to take on the newly created role of associate publisher of its entertainment titles SFX and DVD Review. He will join the specialist publisher in June, reporting to Future's film portfolio publisher Simon Maxwell. Galbraith joined the former Emap consumer magazines business three years ago as a senior sales executive, working on its entertainment titles Empire, Q and Mojo. While at Emap, he also held the position of brand director for Kerrang!.

Freeview has appointed Rob Farmer (pictured) as director of marketing communications and Liz Reynolds as director of strategy and new product development. Farmer joins from agency Clemmow Hornby Inge where he was a partner running campaigns for British Gas and Premier Foods.

BSkyB has appointed Andrew Griffith to its board as chief financial officer. He was BSkyB's director of group finance, mergers and acquisitions and investor relations. Danny Rimer has also joined the board as an independent non-executive director. He is a general partner of the venture capital firm Index Ventures, where he has overseen investments in media and internet firms including Skype, Last.fm, Spot Runner, LoveFilm and Joost.

Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions has appointed Paul Carolan (right) as head of agency sales. He will head a team of 25 and, in addition to his responsibility for new business, will work with Microsoft's existing agencies.

Mediaedge:cia Manchester has made three new appointments. Louise Rimmer joins as broadcast executive, Jo Armstead as press executive and Paul Silver as digital manager. The agency has also promoted Nola Calladine, previously account director, to associate director; and Alun Lucas and Mark Brogan, previously senior account managers, to account directors.

Callum Taylor has been promoted to business manager at GMTV from his previous role as business executive. He takes over from Mark Taynton, who left for a planning role at UKTV.

Bluepod Media, the Bluetooth marketing specialist, has appointed Richard Wallace as its new finance director. He was previously finance director at Starcom MediaVest.
