Operating profit at the group rose by 9.3 per cent year on year to 779m euros (£577m), while EMEA revenue grew by 52m euros to 1.8bn euros (£1.32bn) from the previous year.
Havas Media, the sixth-largest ad group in the world, which includes MPG, Media Contacts and Arena Media Communications, now accounts for a quarter of overall Havas revenue. It posted revenues of 1.53 billion euros (£1.14bn), up by 4.1 per cent from 2006.
Havas said that new business was the main reason behind Havas Media's growth, after the group reported that its Q4 2007 year-on-year growth rate of 9.8 per cent was the best of recent years.
Havas said that growth in Havas Media was likely to continue. The group has already bought independent media agency BLM this year and rebranded it Arena BLM. The effect of the BLM acquisition was not included in Havas' latest financial results.
