The product has previously been placed in landfills, because it gives off harmful toxins if it is burnt, but following research in conjunction with ALD, a company that recycles advertising, display and print materials, all Mobile Media's large sites will be turned into materials that can be used by the building industry.
The company, led by managing director Karen Olsen, claims to have solved an industry-wide problem and is now in talks with experts to find further ways to use the by-product of its outdoor fleet.
Olsen said: "We have spent the last year testing the possibilities and ALD has now been successful in making a product without creating any further emissions."
Supported mesh PVC is a far stronger material than the unsupported PVC used for smaller sites and contains an un-biodegradable product. Mobile Media alone uses 100 tons a year.
